My career as an artist and designer has spanned 30 years in graphic design and printing, followed by nearly 20 years in bronze sculpture and architectural metals. Now, in semi-retirement, I'm returning to my first love...creative expression
through paint.
I am having a great time exploring textural techniques in acrylic, including "pouring" and alcohol resist. I will also be trying my hand with encaustic. I enjoy painting in oils and love to draw in colored pencil, charcoal,
and pen and ink. I have
included some sculpture as well.
I find great beauty in the textures of nature. Marbles, stones, sand and water, clouds. I enjoy the micro even more than the macro. As I experiment with abstracted images, these textures are always in the back of my mind. I'm inspired to discover the nature hiding in my "accidental" abstracts.
